Google Search Tips and Tricks Part I

Here I’m pointing out some Tips and Tricks which is very useful for your day to day activities with Google Search. Hope every one is aware of this kind of stuffs, if am wrong just read the following. This articles have two sections, Part I and Part II

1. Exact Phrase -

To search an exact phrase just use (double quotes) symbol before and after your key words. Eg: The following words are from a quote of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhifor an eye makes. See the difference without and with quotes.

2. Excluded Words -

If you are searching for a topic/tutorial and you don’t want to get the result of some words/topics, just use - (minus symbol)  before the word which you want to exclude. Eg: Your search is for programming book and you want to avoid C and C++  the new query will be programming book  -C -C++.

3. Similar Words -

To search with all similar words of the given keyword, use ~(Tilde symbol) before the keyword. For instance if you want to search for games for cell phones, so normally your query will be like this cell games, so if you want to include all the games site which is mentioned as mobile games, just use ~cell games. See the difference.

4. Multiple Words -

Searches for webpages that includes either word. Using OR in between keywords, make sure that your or is in CAPITAL Letters.
Eg: Try to find Tutorial for Javascript and php, your normal query will be like this way tutorial javascript, php , instead of that just use an tutorial javascript OR php.


5. Numerical Ranges

Searches from a range of Numbers. Syntax from…to. ie if you want to get all the updates of python languages from the year 2000 to 2005. The query will be python updates 2000…2005.
